Levi's and the Dumbest Ad Ever!

Really there isn't much to say about this ad. I am browsing the web and I see this ad with an awesome Captain America tee-shirt:

And when I get to the site the only tee-shirts they offer are these lame ones:

Now who was the idiot photographer that shot that photo? The last thing I would notice in that photo would be a pair of jeans! Even the Jacket is more noticable! So now I am angry because I was hoping to get that sweet Captain America tee, and they want to sell me their crappy jeans! Nice job Levi's now if you excuse me I will be looking for that tee-shirt.

Update:

Thanks Random Person from the comments below who found the shirt! Turns out that the back version is out of stock, but they still have it in Navy!

T-Mobile Sidekicks Useless Worldwide for Four Days Because of Danger/Microsoft

Seriously this is ridiculous that a company takes 4 days and counting to restore data services to a phone that is designed for primarily data!

Below: Note the lack of a 'G' by the signal strength meter and the dates. Yes that is a Galaga theme :-)

What is Microsoft thinking‽‽‽‽‽ This has been a trending topic on Twitter for the past few days. And finally yesterday they made a statement:

T-Mobile and Danger/Microsoft continue to urgently work to restore impacted services to Sidekick, and deliver them to our customers as quickly as possible. Following is a status update for our valued customers:

  • Web browsing was restored Saturday afternoon, and the teams have been working through the night since the disruption started to enable additional functions such as IM, social networking applications and email as quickly as possible.

While we anticipate a significant portion of data services to be restored by Monday, some richer data services may lag. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience as we work hard with Danger/Microsoft to resolve this issue. We will continue to keep you updated as we have news to share. Thank you. Message Edited by Will on 10-04-2009 12:42 PM

If it weren't for the ridiculously cheap $1/day unlimited data pre-pay plan (hidden at bottom of page) I would drop t-mobile. But you can't get a plan like that anywhere else. I tried.

Update:

The Consumerist is covering this story, T-mobile's statement is false though, I don't have web browser service yet.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Pinball Machine Destroyed

THIS IS NOT MY CREATION!

What you see above is the Ultimate pinball machine (Star Trek: The Next Generation) gutted and destroyed. You are asking yourself how could this happen? Was there something I could do?

Probally not, but you can get revenge for this poor machine and for Steve Ritchie who put it blood sweat and tears into the best damn pinball machine in my opinion.

So many pinball collectors search high and low for this machine, and to see one so carelessly destroyed makes them sick!

I don't know who did this, but when I do I will give them a piece of my mind!

Ready to Fail: Crutches strapped to the side of your motorcycle!

I really don't know what to say about his guy -- did he already hurt himself -- or is he just ready to do so? I will never know but it sure cracked me up. Thanks to my wife Jenny for filming this dude.

Fail: Game Packaging

I saw this at my local Walgreens, I love those cheep Chinese game controllers. They are all loaded with all the same bad games. In case you cannot see the fail, just look at the image above "…OR IN THE CAR". Clearly not in a car at all.

The Panic of 1819

It is just so strange how history repeats itself:

  1. War
  2. Easy Credit
  3. Real Estate Expansion
  4. Inflation
  5. Banks in Trouble
  6. Congress throws money at the problem

Panic of 1819 - Wikipedia

It only took 18 years for it to happen again:

Panic of 1837 - Wikipedia

So maybe we aren't doing to bad. LOL I think not.

Quiznos Subs bad -- Mr. Subb infinitely better!

I was convinced to go to Quizno's Subs for lunch today. I always make everyone go to Mr. Subb so I felt bad. After getting my food I know why I don't eat there.

First, it is expensive. Second, they put almost no meat in the Subs. Third, the quality of the meat is sub par. Fourth, they taste like they are loaded with MSG -- probably in the from of modified soy protein. Just look at the pathetic sandwich I had to eat today.

まずい!

Argh I'm Old!

Now I know I am old! I was in Wal✭Mart yesterday and I found a RipStik Casterboard out of the package sitting the floor ready to go. These things intrigued me, and when I see those young whipper-snappers using them it seems so effortless. So I thought I would give it a try.

And I couldn't even get started! I could not balance on the wheels, and I sure wasn't going to be the middle-aged man injuring himself trying a kids toy.

I put it away -- maybe I will give it another try.

こちら宇宙ステーション (This is the Space Station)

I just love some to the ridiculously hilarious stuff that the Japanese come up with.

This is one of the top watched youtube videos in Japan.

Screw the environment! Or not?

By now I am sure most of you all know that congress has outlawed the sale of "inefficient" incandescent light bulbs. You may also be aware of the controversy over the fact the primary alternative lighting option -- the compact florescent light (CFL) -- contains mercury. In fact each CFL bulb contains enough mercury to contaminate over 6000 gallons of water beyond safe drinkable levels!

One has to wonder what congress is thinking -- they aren't. Most likely this law was the result of lobbying of power companies and bulb manure-facturers. They both stand to gain -- the bulb companies by being able to sell greater profit margin CFL bulbs -- and power companies by being able to raise power rates and deliver less power (at the same time avoid having to upgrade the nation's antiquated power grid) and therefore reap more profit. Of course there are the retarded world will end in a great flood environmentalists who cannot see the bigger picture (sheez -- giving toxic mercury filled CFLs to children -- bright idea!)

Well not if I have my say, because in my attic I have stock piled more than 400 100w bulbs! I will be set for quite a while. And while the rest of the country settles into the new dark ages I will be enjoying a bright future. Screw you Congress!!!

If you value the environment or just don't like congress telling you how much power you can use I suggest you hit your local Wal✭Mart and buy a couple hundred yourself! Time might be out to buy 100watts already!!!
