Why You Shouldn't Buy an LG Refrigerator

I bought an LG refrigerator (model # LRBN22514ST) five years ago, and while the refrigerator (refrigeration) has been very good, the plastics are cheap, brittle and poorly designed. Pretty much every plastic part has broken or has been damaged in the past 5 years. This is from normal use, I am not a savage that destroys my stuff. I have never seen such poorly designed parts! I also bought an LG microwave at the same time. The microwave's plastic parts are brittle and have broken as well. The control panel finally delaminated and became nonfunctional! I replaced with a Whirlpool which is SO much better. The parts that are plastic and broke on the LG are metal on the Whirlpool.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Pinball Machine Destroyed

THIS IS NOT MY CREATION!

What you see above is the Ultimate pinball machine (Star Trek: The Next Generation) gutted and destroyed. You are asking yourself how could this happen? Was there something I could do?

Probally not, but you can get revenge for this poor machine and for Steve Ritchie who put it blood sweat and tears into the best damn pinball machine in my opinion.

So many pinball collectors search high and low for this machine, and to see one so carelessly destroyed makes them sick!

I don't know who did this, but when I do I will give them a piece of my mind!

Baltimore Oriole outside my window

I don't normally post about something so mundane, but this is the second time in my life seeing a Baltimore Oriole. And it was outside my living room no less!

I am going to get myself a Oriole feeder!

First Snow of this Year!

Well not actually this Calendar year — but the first snow of this season. I knew it before I even opened my eyes this morning at 4AM because of the plow scraping the tiny bit of snow off the road. They sure are crazy about plowing in my town!

Angry Dick's Employees!

I found this group on facebook today — I gotta say that it makes me not want to shop at Dick's! I wonder if the corporate heads know about this. They will now cause I am going to let them know.

Cumberland Farms Salami Slicing Its Customers &mdash 1¢ scheme?

On the way home from work today I stopped at my local Cumberland Farms to buy gas. I swiped my debit card and lied to the machine and told it that the card was not a debit card. I pumped exactly 10.000 gallons. Now my hand is off the pump. A few seconds later I watch in disbelief as the pump adds an additiona .002 gallons to my total raising the amount I am charged by one cent! I suppose the valve on the pump could be malfunctioning, but I did not hear any more gas being pumped into the car!

Now I really don't care about the 1 cent — but if they did to every one of their customers it would add up quick. I still buy gas there as it is the cheapest even after the 1¢ scheme.

Just as a warning to others -- keep a sharp eye out when shopping at Cumberland Farms.

The Panic of 1819

It is just so strange how history repeats itself:

  1. War
  2. Easy Credit
  3. Real Estate Expansion
  4. Inflation
  5. Banks in Trouble
  6. Congress throws money at the problem

Panic of 1819 - Wikipedia

It only took 18 years for it to happen again:

Panic of 1837 - Wikipedia

So maybe we aren't doing to bad. LOL I think not.

Cumberland Farms: Don't make me a liar!

I was on my way home today. I needed to fill up my tank, so I stopped at the cheap Cumberland Farms to buy $3.57/gallon gasoline.

I swipe my Visa Check Card and the pump asks me "Is this a Debit Card?" Of course it is a debit card -- but it can also be processed as a credit card. You have the choice, but if you choose to use it as a debit card you will most likely incur transition fees. If you use it as a credit card the merchant incurs the fees. Now I know that it is a violation of the agreement that the merchant signs with VISA to require a minimum purchase amount -- and I bet it is also a violation to make me lie in order to use my Check Card as a credit card.

I will be complaining to VISA about this.

Almost hit a Coyote

I was driving home from work yesterday when a coyote shot out right in front of my car. I was able to tap the brakes and swerve a little which was just enough to not hit it. I am pretty sure its tail did brush the front of the car.

One thing I did notice that its tail was quite bushy. Also it looked scared ;-) I figure it weighted about 60 lbs.

This was almost the same place where a mountain lion ran out in fron of my car earlier this year.
